Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide personal care services to meet the patient’s needs, including activities of daily living and ensuring safety in the home.

Qualifications

• Meets all training requirements per state and federal laws when applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification per state regulations.
• PPD or chest X-ray if applicable.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
• Participation in Maxim’s competency program.
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with plan of care, including activities of daily living such as bathing, oral care, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Take and record vital signs as ordered (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP).
• Ensure safe transfer and ambulation using proper techniques.
• Provide exercise according to the plan of care.
• Perform ROM and simple procedures as ordered.
• Complete patient laundry and maintain safety practices in the home.
• Observe and document patient condition and report changes to nurse supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
• Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
• Exercise according to the plan of care
• Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
• Patient’s laundry
• Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
• Observation and teaching of home safety practices
• Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor
