Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide personal care services to a client in their home in the Delaware area. Wage is $15 - $18 per hour with weekly paychecks and comprehensive benefits.

The role involves following the patient’s plan of care, assisting with daily living activities, taking vitals when ordered, and ensuring safety and comfort in the home setting. Maxim offers career development and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation.
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with plan of care including baths, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, feeding.
• Take and record vitals when ordered.
• Safe transfer and ambulation; assist with range of motion and simple procedures.
• Perform patient laundry and ensure safety with equipment.
• Observe and document patient condition and report changes to nurse supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
  • Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
  • Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
  • Exercise according to the plan of care
  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Patient’s laundry
  • Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Observation and teaching of home safety practices
  • Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor

Requirements

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable

• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program
