Job summary

University Health Associates (UHA) seeks an Advance Practice Professional with expertise in Hematology/Oncology to provide comprehensive patient evaluations, coordinate care, and participate in education for residents and students. The APP will work in infusion and ambulatory settings, perform procedures, and collaborate with the clinical team to optimize discharge planning and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for RN/APRN in West Virginia.
• AHA BLS Certification required; ALS training may be at department discretion.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as Physician Assistant; ARC-PA approved PA program; NCCPA certification; WV licensure eligibility.
• Master’s degree as Physician Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for patients and their families in the infusion center and ambulatory setting.
• Completes daily rounds; participates in ambulatory clinics and inpatient care.
• Orders additional tests or consults per guidelines; communicates test results.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up for outpatient care.
• Demonstrates teaching and mentoring of staff and students as applicable.
