Job summary

UHA University Health Associates in Ripley, WV is seeking an Advance Practice Professional specializing in Hematology/Oncology. The APP will perform comprehensive evaluations, coordinate care, and support education for residents and students.

The role emphasizes inpatient/outpatient infusion center duties, discharge planning, and collaboration with the Hem/Onc faculty. Applicants must have NP or PA credentials and WV licensure; BLS/ALS as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional ALS training as needed.
• Hematology/Oncology, acute care or internal medicine experience preferred.
• Eligible new graduates will be considered.
• PA qualifications include ARC-PA accredited PA program and NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive and individualized care for hem/onc patients in infusion center and ambulatory settings.
• Completes rounds; conducts pre-treatment evaluations and participates in clinics and inpatient care.
• Orders tests and consults per guidelines; communicates results to care team.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up appointments for outpatient care.
• Documents plan of care, interventions, and outcomes in medical records; educates patients and families.
• Mentors nursing staff and participates in resident education and clinical program development.
