Deephaven Mortgage LLC in North Carolina is seeking an HELOC Account Manager to support our HELOC business across Wholesale and Correspondent channels. You will be the primary contact for partners, managing loan files from submission through funding, and coordinating with Underwriting, title, and closing to ensure timely closings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/finance or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years mortgage operations experience in Account Manager, Loan Processor, Closer or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with HELOCs, home equity loans, or second-lien products.
• Working knowledge of mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Proficiency in Encompass or a comparable loan origination system; quick to learn new software.
• Wholesale or Correspondent channel experience preferred; non-QM exposure a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume pipeline against hard deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship skills with partners, underwriters, and title and closing teams.
• Independent worker in a fast-paced environment; team player committed to excellence.
• Compliance with Deephaven policies and training deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own an assigned HELOC pipeline from submission through funding, driving files forward to meet closing date.
• Set expectations at submission through proactive calls aligning partners on timelines and next steps.
• Serve as the first quality check on submissions, catching missing documents and eligibility concerns.
• Guide partners through underwriting decisions and conditions with clear communication.
• Own condition clearing from decision to resubmission, delivering complete packages.
• Act as the central coordinator between partners, in-house Underwriting, and third-party teams.
• Anticipate partner needs with timely communication to keep files on track.
• Build strong relationships with Sales and Underwriting to ensure credit quality and service.
• Identify at-risk files, aging items, and recurring issues for leadership escalation.
• Maintain audit-ready loan data in the LOS with milestones, conditions, notes, and disclosures.
• Maintain deep knowledge of HELOC products and guidelines for partners.
