Deephaven Mortgage LLC is seeking a skilled mortgage underwriter in North Carolina. You will manually underwrite loans for Correspondent and Wholesale channels, assess income, and ensure adherence to Non-QM guidelines and investor overlays.

The role emphasizes quality control, compliance, and clear documentation, collaborating with sales, processors, and closers to maintain fast SLAs and loan quality. On-site position with competitive hourly compensation and monthly bonus potential.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite mortgage loans manually for Correspondent and Wholesale channels per credit guidelines.
• Perform quality control audits of third-party/vendor processes to ensure compliance.
• Assist in handling loan-level credit questions and updating underwriting standards and procedures.
• Analyze Bank Statements (personal & business).
• Assess Asset Depletion and related income calculations.
• Experience underwriting HELOCs and 2nd mortgages preferred.
• Manually calculate income across Non-QM programs for self-employed borrowers.
• Review condo projects (warrantable, non-warrantable, new construction, small projects).
