Job summary

The Middlebury College Summer Hebrew School on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont seeks a Drama Instructor to lead theatre activities and teach drama through Hebrew immersion during the 2018 session.

Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, guiding rehearsals, coordinating performances, and supporting a culturally immersive learning environment for students while reading, writing, and speaking Hebrew throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts or equivalent training.
• Experience teaching drama to groups of students.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans; teach students about plays and the history of drama.
• Instruct lessons in Hebrew.
• Assist students in creating their own dramatic pieces, coordinating, and managing the learning environment, directing performance rehearsals, helping to assemble and manage lighting and sets.
• Coordinate performances with students and for the School of Hebrew.
• Complete all contact hours assigned.
• Attend school events, meals, and other specified activities.
• Work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisor.
