Job summary

Middlebury College Summer Hebrew School is seeking a temporary Music Instructor for the 2018 session on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont. The role involves teaching music in Hebrew, guiding students in composing and exploring music history, and coordinating performances.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, demonstrate teaching excellence, and be able to lead co-curricular activities while living on campus with lodging and a meal plan provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach music in Hebrew and lead co-curricular activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Teach music in Hebrew.
• Teach music and musical instruments to the students.
• Teach the students to compose music and encourage original creations.
• Text book knowledge about music and teach about its history.
• Coordinate musical performances with students and for the School of Hebrew.
• Completing all contact hours assigned.
• Attend school specific, all school events, meals, and other specified activities.
• Work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisor.
• Other duties are performed as assigned.
