Job summary

Middlebury College’s School of Hebrew invites applications for a temporary Drama Instructor to teach and lead co-curricular activities during the summer session on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont. Candidates should be passionate about drama and proficient in Hebrew, with the ability to guide students in reading, writing, and speaking exclusively in Hebrew.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts or completion of related coursework in acting, voice, theater history, set lighting, direction, and drama theory/criticism.
• Must be able to lead co-curricular activities and teach Hebrew as a foreign language.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans; teach students about plays and the history of drama.
• Instruct lessons in Hebrew.
• Assist students in creating dramatic pieces, organize and manage the learning environment, direct rehearsals, and help with lighting and sets.
• Coordinate performances with students and for the School of Hebrew.
• Complete all contact hours assigned.
• Attend school events, meals, and activities.
• Work cooperatively with others and follow supervisor directions.
• Other duties as assigned.
