Middlebury College invites applications for a temporary Instructor of Hebrew for the Summer 2020 session, located on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont. The program combines intense language study with cultural immersion, offering daily instruction and opportunities to read, write, and speak Hebrew.

We seek a candidate with an MA or advanced degree in relevant fields, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative, creative approach to teaching within an instructional team.

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold an MA or a strong advanced degree in second language acquisition, culture, or literature.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well on an instructional team.
• Experience teaching Hebrew as a second/foreign language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Hebrew daily in a summer session on Middlebury College campus.
• Foster an immersive language environment emphasizing reading, writing, and speaking Hebrew.
• Collaborate with other instructors and contribute to curriculum and culture-related topics.
