Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth; erect steel structures; and pour concrete or other paving materials.
• Control compressors and pumps, attachments like blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, and operate controls to drive machines.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; apprenticeship or related experience preferred.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Problem-solving skills to analyze and repair machine malfunctions.

Physical and Working Conditions

Physical activities include climbing, lifting up to 75 pounds, and operating controls. Must wear safety gear. Work involves outdoor weather conditions, exposure to noise, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
