Job summary

HireRising in Scottsdale, AZ seeks an experienced Heavy-Haul Carrier Development & Capacity Specialist to expand our network of specialized carriers for oversized and project freight, including data-center equipment.

This role focuses on identifying, recruiting, qualifying, and developing long-term carrier relationships. It is not driving or dispatch; it requires outbound outreach, rate negotiations, and capacity development for complex transportation needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy haul, oversize/overweight transportation, specialized carrier sales, project logistics, transportation business development, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and develop relationships with specialized heavy-haul carriers, fleet owners, dispatchers, and owner-operators.
• Conduct outbound calls, email outreach, and follow-up to develop new carrier relationships.
• Build and maintain a network of qualified heavy-haul transportation partners.
• Evaluate carrier capabilities, equipment, safety records, insurance, operating authority, and capacity.
• Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to support project-specific capacity requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations and Compliance to ensure carriers meet requirements.
• Maintain carrier information and recruiting metrics in the CRM.
• Develop capacity across targeted lanes and regions.
• Help secure capacity for oversized and industrial equipment.
• Monitor market conditions to support project planning.
