Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in the United States to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, and HVAC components. You will service vehicles on-site, support drivers on routes, and work with state-of-the-art equipment.

Ideal candidates have experience in multi-system diagnostics, basic welding, and a CDL.

Qualifications

Ability to diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 trucks or similar equipment.
ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems; perform preventative and repair maintenance.
Chassis component repair and maintenance.
Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air/hydraulic braking systems.
Light engine repair and maintenance.
Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
Heating and air conditioning.
Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
Safely provides road service when necessary to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
Identifies malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
Completes applicable Company training programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
