Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diverse equipment across gas, diesel, LP, and electric systems. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and perform rebuilds or preventive maintenance on engines, hydraulics, and other major components.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, customer service skills, and the ability to work at customer sites or in the shop. High school diploma or GED is required; technician certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across gas, diesel, LP, and electric systems.
  • Repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical systems, lifting systems, and other major components.
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform inspections to identify failures, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
  • Complete rebuilds, repairs, basic welding, and preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Follow blocking, chocking, and equipment-handling procedures.
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts and supplies, and a safe, clean company vehicle.
  • Complete required training and certifications.
  • Participate in safety meetings and support the Safety-First culture.
  • Help Service leadership bring great people onto the team.
  • Work at customer sites or in the shop.

Job description

Requirements
  • 3+ years of equipment repair or related industry experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Mechanical or trade school training preferred
  • Technician certifications preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Furnish your own tools
  • Ability to work in a shop environment
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule as needed
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
