Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to service and repair a range of heavy machinery at waste disposal facilities and across sites in the United States. The role requires diagnosing hydraulic and electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and completing service documentation.

Candidates must be physically capable, pass pre-employment drug screening, and possess a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing.
• Constant standing, walking, and grasping.
• Ability to work around occupational risks, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, and similar elements.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair heavy equipment, including diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, A/C and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to site checklists.
• Complete work orders, card files, preventive-maintenance checklists, and oil samples.
• Service and maintain light plants, water pumps, welders, and other equipment.

Job description

• Service and repair heavy equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front-end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems
• Perform preventative maintenance according to site checklists
• Complete work orders, card files, preventive-maintenance checklists, and oil samples
• Service and maintain light plants, water pumps, welders, and other equipment
• Work at waste disposal facilities serving customers across the USA
• Operate in inside garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outside conditions including inclement weather, heat, and humidity
• Follow rigorous cleaning schedules at waste disposal sites
