Qualifications

  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous service at customer facilities.
  • Communicate issues and recommended repairs to customers and management.
  • Assist with training apprentice technicians and follow safety policies.

Job description

  • Perform planned maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other truck systems.
  • Repair or replace major electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, LPG, power steering, transmission, engine, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical systems on internal combustion and electric trucks.
  • Perform engine tune-ups and related maintenance on various makes and models.
  • Identify replacement parts and order necessary parts for repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment according to technician skill level and manufacturer specifications.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, specialty tools, and standard tools of the trade.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company service vehicle in good, clean, safe, and secure condition.
  • Provide professional and courteous service at customer facilities.
  • Communicate equipment issues, recommended repairs, and service requirements to customers and management.
  • Assist with training and mentoring apprentice technicians through on-the-job training.
  • Follow company and customer-site safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, parts information, and electronic records.
  • Work across the HTX Material Handling footprint as needed to support customers and the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., technical school, or equivalent technical training.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining forklifts, lift trucks, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, or similar machinery.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair equipment according to skill level.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in repairing and maintaining industrial equipment.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and the ability to maintain a good driving record throughout employment.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use PCs, tablets, Microsoft Office, email, and electronic service systems.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls and customer priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be fluent in English. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks associated with equipment service and repair, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, lifting, and working in confined or difficult-to-access areas.
