Sherman + Reilly, headquartered in Chattanooga, is a leading North American manufacturer of heavy equipment for the electric utility industry. The Rental Coordinator oversees day-to-day rental fleet operations, handling quotes, contracts, dispatch, returns, and billing while ensuring fleet availability and compliance.

The role collaborates with Sales, Finance, and Production and reports to the Director of Sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in equipment rental, inside sales, customer service, or logistics coordination; heavy equipment industry experience preferred.
• Experience with rental contracts, quoting, and billing processes preferred.

Responsabilités

• Deliver excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Process rental quotes, contracts, and reservations for heavy equipment in the rental management system.
• Coordinate equipment delivery and pickup schedules with transportation/logistics teams, outside sales, and customers.
• Coordinate with Finance and the Director of Sales on pricing, discounts, and promotions per policy.
• Track fleet availability and utilization; flag conflicts, shortages, or units due for return.
• Serve as primary contact for rental inquiries, extensions, off-rents, and billing questions.
• Document equipment condition, damage, hour meter readings, and quotes when damage occurs.
• Maintain accurate rental records, contracts, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Support invoicing, extensions, credit card payments, and billing adjustments with accounting/finance.
• Assist outside sales with rental program questions and fleet allocation.
• Monitor rental agreements for expiration, renewal, and return logistics; follow up with customers.
• Forecast rental demand and communicate fleet needs to leadership.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment specs, attachments, and safe operating requirements.
