Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform inspections, monitor waste quality, and document maintenance while adhering to safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of related experience, familiarity with OSHA-regulated sites, and a customer‑oriented approach. This full-time, on-site role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years' prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed safely.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and maintain high work standards.
• Pride in work and commitment to safety and goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor servicing and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and safety documentation.
• Follow all safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized.
