Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations, performing transfers, spreading, loading and compaction of waste or soil. The role emphasizes strict safety practices and routine inspections to ensure equipment readiness.

The position requires experience in heavy equipment operation and working on OSHA-regulated sites, with a focus on professional conduct with customers and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience on sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
• Professional and courteous conduct with customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment safety.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste and equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor service and report repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area after each shift.
• Adhere to all required safety policies.
