Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate a range of machinery at our recycling, landfill or transfer facility. You will perform inspections, monitor waste quality and keep equipment in top condition, reporting maintenance needs promptly.

Two years of heavy equipment experience and prior work at OSHA-regulated sites are preferred. A safety-first mindset, reliable time management and strong customer service skills will help you support efficient waste operations

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Experience working at OSHA-regulated sites preferred.
• Strong customer service, professional conduct and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per policy to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other gear.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials and ensure operational readiness of equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment and report major repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation; follow all safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, serviced shop environment and perform other duties as assigned.
