Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a dedicated Operator – Heavy Equipment in Fall River, MA to safely operate and maintain equipment at a recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station. Responsibilities include thorough inspections, operating various heavy machines, monitoring waste and equipment condition, and completing required reports.

Two years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA site familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
• Good time management to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules; promotes safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections following company policy.
• Safely operate equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader) per safety standards.
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Document minor service on equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, serviced shop and store equipment at shift end.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required records.
