Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Lake City, FL is seeking an Equipment Operator to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. The role requires operating heavy equipment, maintaining gear, and supporting crew under the Foreperson’s direction.

Responsibilities include setting up safety perimeters, performing daily maintenance, and participating in storm restoration work as needed. A background check, drug screen, valid CDL/DOT, and outdoor work capability are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• CDL and DOT Medical Card required to operate any truck over 26,000 lbs.
• Must work outdoors in varying weather and be willing to travel for storm restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
• Prepare equipment and materials for each day’s work under Foreperson’s direction.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members and take a leadership role when required.
• Clean up and dispose of debris and set up safety barriers and signs.
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
