Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking an Equipment Operator in New York to move and remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. The role emphasizes safe operation, equipment prep, and assisting crew members in daily tasks.

The position requires physical strength, outdoors work, and a valid CDL/DOT card. Training includes PPE use, driving duties, and possible storm restoration assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in utilities or related fields is preferred.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at Foreperson’s direction.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members and take a leadership role when required.
• Cleans up and disposes of debris and sets up barriers and warning signs.
• Keeps informed on equipment specs, procedures, and safety policies.
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson and assist with storm work as needed.
