Job summary

Charah Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely load and move materials using a forklift, dozer, excavator and other heavy machines.

The role requires coordination with crew, adherence to safety regulations, and performing basic machine maintenance in a demanding field setting. The position requires at least one year of heavy equipment experience, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to work flexible hours with exposure to loud and outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar environment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of ash management, structural fills and landfills preferred.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and/or move various materials (ash, dirt, rock, etc.) using heavy construction equipment.
• Drive and maneuver equipment with blades to distribute and level earth or terrain.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and other activities.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine maintenance needs.
• Adjust controls to exact positions as necessary during operations.
• Learn, follow and promote all safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
