Job summary

Charah Solutions is seeking a heavy equipment operator to run backhoes, loaders, dozers, excavators, and graders with a focus on grading accuracy and soil preparation. The role requires safe operation and adherence to engineered plans and site specifications.

Responsibilities include material handling, blade work, coordination with crew signals, and routine vehicle maintenance while maintaining strict safety standards in a demanding construction environment.

Qualifications

• This role requires at least three years of heavy equipment experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience with GPS grading systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of ash management, structural fills or landfills is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and/or move materials (ash, dirt, rock) using heavy equipment.
• Operate blades over areas to level ground and distribute earth.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and other activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and determine maintenance needs.
• Adjust machine controls precisely, as required.
• Follow and promote all safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
