Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. The role focuses on transferring, spreading, covering, loading, and compacting waste or soil efficiently while maintaining strict safety standards.

Qualifications

Two years’ prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
Ability to adhere to Company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is clean and functional.
Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader following safety standards.
Monitor waste materials for unacceptable waste and report issues to supervisor.
Perform minor servicing and document Equipment Condition Reports.
Maintain a clean, serviced shop area and complete shift end procedures.
