Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to level earth for runways and roadbeds, clear and excavate construction sites, and help move heavy materials using cranes and equipment. You’ll train to operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and more, with hands-on practice and potential civilian career paths.

You will gain skills in basic construction methods, receive paid training, and qualify for tuition assistance while earning a regular paycheck during drill weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet citizenship requirements per NATIONALGUARD.com details.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig areas of construction sites.
• Spread fill material and transport heavy construction equipment.
