Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our yard team in Georgia. You will operate heavy equipment to load/unload containers and trailers, and move scrap metal under safety protocols.

The role is outdoors in varying weather, and the company provides competitive pay, medical plans, 401k, weekly pay, and PPE. Prior experience with hydraulic cranes is preferred; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year experience operating a hydraulic crane and wheeled bucket loader; scrap metal/construction preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load and unload scrap metal and debris.
• Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities.
• Identify and grade inbound scrap and reject unacceptable items.
• Drain and remove fluids and gases from various appliances.
• Direct truck drivers for loading/unloading of materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues to supervisor.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental rules and procedures.
