Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy equipment for loading and unloading scrap metal and debris. You will assess weights, verify capacities, and guide trucks into position for efficient processing. The role is outdoors in varying weather, with strict adherence to safety and environmental rules.

A High School diploma/GED and 1 year of relevant experience are preferred, plus bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and 401k.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience operating hydraulic crane and wheeled bucket loader preferred.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load/unload scrap metal and debris for processing or shipping.
• Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities to prevent overloads.
• Identify and grade inbound scrap and reject unacceptable items.
• Drain and remove fluids and gases from autos, refrigerators, etc.
• Direct truck drivers into proper position for loading/unloading.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report concerns.
• Comply with SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules and procedures.
