Job summary

Patterns india is seeking a reliable Equipment Operator in Chattanooga, TN. You will operate heavy equipment to load/unload containers and trailers, and move scrap metal and other materials around the recycling yard.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of crane and loader experience, and the ability to follow instructions. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with responsibilities including inspections and coordinating with truck drivers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience operating hydraulic crane and wheeled bucket loader.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and learn new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load and unload scrap metal and debris.
• Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities.
• Identify and grade inbound scrap; reject unacceptable items.
• Drain and remove fluids and gases from autos, refrigerators, etc.
• Direct truck drivers for loading/unloading scrap metal or other materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report defects or repairs.
