Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment such as graders, loaders, and backhoes.
• Ability to perform traffic control during maintenance operations.
• Knowledge of maintenance basics for highway equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks, tractors, road graders, dozers, front-end loaders, cranes, backhoes, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs roadway shoulders, bridge decks, and replaces signs or guardrails as needed.
• Provides traffic control using a stop/slow sign or flags to direct highway traffic.
• Removes debris and vegetation from highway rights-of-way.
