Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator I II to operate power equipment in highway maintenance and repair tasks. The role includes traffic control, routine upkeep of machinery, and assisting with shoulder and deck repairs on state routes.

Qualifications

• Level II requires 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of highway machinery.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as trucks, graders, dozers, loaders, cranes, backhoes and more.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs roadway shoulders or bridge decks and manages traffic control.
• Removes debris and assists with highway maintenance tasks.
