State of Oklahoma is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator I II to operate power equipment for highway maintenance and repair. The role includes traffic control, basic repairs, and debris removal to keep roadways safe.

The position is full-time, with duties at district locations such as Purcell, and requires adherence to CDL rules and safety standards. Training and advancement opportunities are provided within the department.

Formación

• Level II requires one year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Level I requires no prior experience or formal education.
• Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of heavy machinery is expected.

Responsabilidades

• Operates heavy equipment and machinery such as trucks, tractors, graders, dozers, loaders, cranes, backhoes and other equipment as needed.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs failures in roadway shoulders, bridge decks, and replaces signs, posts, guardrails, and fences.
• Provides traffic control assistance using a stop/slow sign or flag.
• Applies herbicide to highway right-of-ways to control weeds and vegetation.
• Removes debris including tires, animal carcasses, and spills.
