Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to drive trucks up to 35 tons and operate other heavy equipment at our Ohio facilities. A CDL is not required to operate the vehicle, under supervisor direction.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, safe operation of Haul Truck, Water Truck, Dump Truck, Dredge, Track Hoe, Frontend Loader, and Skid Steer Loader, plus teamwork to maintain safety and efficiency on site.

Qualifications

• Required: GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous heavy equipment experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and directions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond appropriately.
• Safely operate heavy equipment including Haul Truck, Water Truck, Dump Truck, Dredge, Track Hoe, Frontend Loader, and Skid Steer Loader.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and report issues before starting work.
• Assist with general labor, equipment maintenance, and other crew duties as directed.
• Maintain truck operation within facility boundaries and follow safety regulations (OSHA/MSHA).
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth, safe site operations.
• Ensure consistent crusher feeding at quarry locations while adhering to safety rules.
