Job summary

Hensel Phelps in El Paso, TX, is seeking an Equipment Operator to perform maintenance and operate a wide range of construction machinery. This safety-sensitive role requires vigilance, adherence to procedures, and reliable, punctual performance on busy job sites.

You will inspect equipment, document wear, support site safety, and follow OSHA guidelines for trenching, backfilling, and operation of cranes, loaders, backhoes, graders, pumps, and related gear.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Follow safe work practices in accordance with the safety program.
• Experience with a wide variety of construction machinery is preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance of various construction equipment is preferred.
• Must be able to take initiative and be reliable.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance work on equipment such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards.
• Operate construction machinery including cranes, dozers, track loaders, loaders, backhoes, graders, trucks, pumps, and rock drills.
• Work in pipeline production performing trenching/excavating procedures according to OSHA guidelines.
• Perform backfill procedures and other earthwork.
• Inspect and document heavy equipment.
• Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards.
