Didion, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Wisconsin to drive locomotives, yard trucks, and other heavy machinery in a fast-paced rail and grain logistics environment.

You will inspect equipment, support loadouts, perform conductor/grounds duties in the rail yard, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while keeping equipment well-maintained and compliant with food-safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required, technical training is a plus.
  • Experience with locomotives or yard trucks is preferred.
  • Manufacturing or food-safe environment experience is beneficial.
  • Must have problem-solving skills and be able to work independently.
  • Team player with reliability and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Support truck and rail loadouts to meet delivery timelines.

Compensation: $25-$30 per hour - based on experience

What You’ll Be Driving (Literally & Figuratively)
  • Locomotives, yard trucks, and other heavy machinery that keep our logistics flowing.
  • Railcars and trailers — moved with precision and care.
  • High-quality food products — loaded and shipped with accuracy and pride.
Your Day-to-Day
  • Operate and inspect equipment.
  • Support truck and rail loadouts to meet delivery timelines.
  • Perform conductor/grounds duties in the rail yard.
  • Keep equipment clean, maintained, and ready to roll.
  • Use tech tools to track schedules and maintenance.
  • Stay sharp on food safety and workplace safety standards.
What You Bring to the Table
  • High school diploma or GED (bonus points for technical training).
  • Experience with locomotives or yard trucks? Even better.
  • Manufacturing or food-safe environment experience preferred.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Team spirit, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Physical & Environmental Expectations
  • You’re comfortable with noise, dust, heat, and cold.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Can work at heights over 20 feet and in confined spaces.
  • Communicate clearly via 2‑way radio and follow safety protocols.
