Job summary

Didion, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Operator/Mechanic in Wisconsin to operate packaging and bulk load-out equipment while performing basic maintenance and supporting shifts.   • Manufacturing experience, preferably in a food-safe or regulated environment.
  • Forklift experience required (or willing to certify quickly).
  • Comfortable working independently as the go-to operator on shift.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging and bulk load-out equipment to keep production running smoothly.
  • Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on pack line equipment.
  • Support bulk load-out and warehouse activities, including forklift operation and loading/unloading shipments.
  • Identify and resolve equipment or process issues before they impact production.
  • Complete quality checks, sample preparation, and required production paperwork.
  • Enter shipment and production data accurately in internal systems.
  • Perform deep cleaning and sanitation between production runs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Grow technical skills through ongoing training and development.

Compensation: $22-$25 per hour (plus a $2.00 per hour premium for 2nd and weekend shifts)

This role is ideal for someone who can confidently operate packaging equipment while also stepping in to perform basic maintenance and support bulk load-out activities.

What You’ll Do

As a Packaging Operator/Mechanic, you’ll serve as a key technical resource on the shift. Responsibilities include:

  • Operating and monitoring packaging and bulk load-out equipment to keep production running smoothly
  • Performing basic mechanical troubleshooting, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on pack line equipment
  • Supporting bulk load-out and warehouse activities, including forklift operation and loading/unloading shipments
  • Identifying and resolving equipment or process issues before they impact production
  • Completing quality checks, sample preparation, and required production paperwork
  • Entering shipment and production data accurately in internal systems
  • Performing deep cleaning and sanitation between production runs
  • Collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Continuing to grow your technical skills through ongoing training and development
What We’re Looking For
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (technical or mechanical training strongly preferred)
  • Prior manufacturing experience, ideally in a food-safe or regulated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment or perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Forklift experience required (or willingness to certify quickly)
  • Comfortable working independently and serving as a go-to operator on the shift
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs, climb ladders, and work in hot, cold, or dusty conditions
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
