Job summary

Didion Milling, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Wisconsin to join a fast-paced facility team. You will operate locomotives and yard trucks, perform rail yard conductor/grounds duties, and help ensure on-time delivery of high-quality food products.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, comfort with loud environments, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Safety and reliability are emphasized as you maintain equipment and follow safety protocols.

Compensation: $25-$30 per hour - based on experience

What You’ll Be Driving (Literally & Figuratively):
  • Locomotives, yard trucks, and other heavy machinery that keep our logistics flowing.
  • Railcars and trailers — moved with precision and care.
  • High-quality food products — loaded and shipped with accuracy and pride.
Your Day-to-Day:
  • Operate and inspect equipment.
  • Support truck and rail loadouts to meet delivery timelines.
  • Perform conductor/grounds duties in the rail yard.
  • Keep equipment clean, maintained, and ready to roll.
  • Use tech tools to track schedules and maintenance.
  • Stay sharp on food safety and workplace safety standards.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • High school diploma or GED (bonus points for technical training).
  • Experience with locomotives or yard trucks? Even better.
  • Manufacturing or food-safe environment experience preferred.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Team spirit, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Physical & Environmental Expectations:
  • You’re comfortable with noise, dust, heat, and cold.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Can work at heights over 20 feet and in confined spaces.
  • Communicate clearly via 2-way radio and follow safety protocols.
