Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking a position for on-site inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role includes documenting inspection findings, identifying repairs, and assisting with maintenance as required.

This opportunity emphasizes collaboration with managers, maintenance supervisors, and external vendors to support EOCP guidelines and equipment specifications. A valid Louisiana Class "B" CDL is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in the repair, inspection, or operation of mobile equipment or heavy mobile equipment.
• Three years of experience in the inspection of automotive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site preventive maintenance and safety inspections. Document equipment conditions, recommend corrective actions, and assist with repairs as needed.
• Monitor and track equipment repairs performed by DOTD personnel and outside vendors to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Collaborate with managers and maintenance supervisors to assess equipment needs and provide recommendations for equipment purchases and specification updates.
• Maintain detailed equipment inventory records, including asset locations, maintenance history, repair records, and current mechanical condition.
• Evaluate equipment maintenance products, assist with updates to EOCP guidelines, and recommend improvements to maintenance practices and product specifications.
