Yancey Bros. Co. in Georgia seeks a Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and components on on-highway trucks and buses.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and computer systems, and the ability to read manuals and work collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read, interpret manuals and follow instructions; read technical information.
• Operate equipment with required licenses/certificates.
• Basic computer skills including email and internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on buses and on-highway diesel truck engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, suspension, drive trains, electrical, steering, braking, and operator comfort systems.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders.
• Perform welding and brazing, fabricate and modify parts and equipment.
• Complete documentation (work orders, parts orders, inspections, warranty support, time sheets).
• Work safely following established time and safety procedures.
• Participate in safety program; additional duties as assigned by manager.
