Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and components on a wide range of on‑highway trucks and buses.

You will inspect systems, perform repairs, and document work orders accurately while adhering to safety standards. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems, welding skills, and a customer‑service mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and follow manuals and instructions.
• Experience with welding and fabrication.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines and components.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on buses and on‑highway diesel truck engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, suspension, drive trains, electrical systems, steering, braking, etc.
• Determine extent of necessary repairs and prepare service orders.
• Perform welding and brazing, fabricate parts and attachments.
• Complete all documentation (work orders, parts orders, inspections, warranty support, time sheets).
• Work in accordance with time, quality standards and safety procedures.
