Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and components across on‑highway trucks and buses. You will inspect systems, perform maintenance, and document work orders with precision.

Ideal candidates have strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to read manuals and schematics. A safety‑focused mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems.
• Arc and oxygen acetylene welding and test equipment for diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information including schematics and manuals.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to operate safely with licenses/certificates as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on buses and on‑highway diesel truck engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, suspensions, drive trains, electrical, steering and braking systems.
• Determine extent of repairs and plan service needs.
• Welding, brazing, fabricate or modify parts or structures as needed.
• Complete all work orders, parts orders and documentation accurately and timely.
• Work in accordance with time, quality and safety standards.
