Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks a Horizontal Construction Engineer to operate heavy equipment, level earth, and clear terrain for runways, roads, and buildings. You will train for nine weeks Basic Training and nine weeks Advanced Individual Training, earning while you learn and preparing for a civilian construction career.

You’ll gain hands-on skills in equipment operation, earthwork, and safety, with tuition assistance and retirement benefits through part-time service.

Qualifications

• Must be enlisted in the Army National Guard.
• Must be between ages 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information on grade stakes and placing them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
