Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Project Manager to direct large-scale heavy civil projects up to $15 million. You will forecast, budget, and control costs while coordinating with estimators and construction managers to ensure on-time, profitable delivery.

You will lead bid processes, manage resources for startup and execution, and maintain strong relationships with owners and subcontractors. A BS in a related field and 3–5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• 5+ years experience in paving, dirt, and grading.
• Knowledge of paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Understanding of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
• Ability to work in high production environment.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent supervisory communication and organizational skills.
• Accuracy at all times.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project revenue and costs to meet profitability goals.
• Coordinate with estimators and controls to establish budgets.
• Lead estimating efforts on vertically integrated projects to ensure accurate bid-to-build.
• Coordinate with sponsors and managers to manage resources for schedule.
• Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure bid accuracy.
• Develop comprehensive startup and kickoff plans with project team.
• Foster environment for clear communication among project engineers, foremen, superintendents, and construction manager.
• Ensure proper job controls: quantities, costs, revenue, schedule.
• Build strong relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and clients for long-term partnerships.
• Provide accurate construction reports to enable performance improvements.
• Manage projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed margins.
• Support safety initiatives to maintain a safe workplace.
