Job summary

White Oak Medical Center in Maryland seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Heart and Vascular unit who will uphold our mission to extend God’s care through compassionate physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities include patient education, mentoring, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager. Night shift, 36 hours/week, 6:45 pm-7:15 am, three 12-hour shifts weekly with weekend requirements; night differential eligible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with NCLEX passed.
• Active Maryland nursing license required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in relevant unit.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP per specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families across continuum of care.
• Serve as role model for Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Maintain professionalism per ANA standards and Adventist health values.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing duties as needed.
• Develop care plans and monitor patient condition, initiating actions as needed.
• Mentor students and staff in patient-centered care.
• Conduct rounds and literature reviews to improve practice.
• Identify opportunities for practice improvement and participate in change.

Skills

1 year RN experience

Maryland RN license

BLS certification

ACLS/PALS/NRP as required

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program
