Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a unit coordinator to deliver administrative and patient-care support on the hospital unit. This 36-hour-per-week role requires handling admissions, charting, medical records, scheduling, and daily communications with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow.

Under supervision, you will transcribe orders, manage patient data, assist with bedside charting, coordinate with case management, and ensure timely updates of bed boards and communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service experience in healthcare or customer facing setting.
• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate flow of patient activity and information on the unit per hospital policies.
• Greet and direct patients, visitors, physicians and staff on arrival.
• Maintain patient charts and medical records; file and label documents.
• Transcribe physician orders and assist with bed assignments and room changes.
• Support communications between nursing, admissions, and case management.
• Enter orders and retrieve data in hospital information systems.
• Assist with orientation of new unit coordinators and staff training.
