Job summary

Tempus seeks an experienced healthcare transactions attorney to join its Legal Team. You will draft, negotiate, and explain complex agreements across healthcare providers and life sciences, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and data privacy norms.

This role offers a remote or hybrid setup based in Chicago, with a fast-paced environment and opportunities to expand into corporate governance, fundraising, and regulatory work.

Qualifications

• JD Degree
• 4+ years of relevant healthcare transactional experience at an established law firm or an in-house role.
• Strong familiarity with the healthcare regulatory environment, HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid payment issues, Stark regulation, fraud and abuse issues, and data privacy regulations
• Current bar membership in at least one state
• Ability to work at in a fast paced environment
• Impeccable judgment, including understanding how to properly evaluate and communicate legal risks
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• A great teammate who is willing to join supportive and collaborative colleagues

Responsibilities

• Drafting, editing, and negotiating complex healthcare agreements across providers, life sciences companies, and research collaborations.
• Explain and advise on contractual risk and compliance considerations.
• Collaborate with internal teams across commercial, data science, product/engineering, finance, and HR.
• Assist with broader legal work in IP, employment, governance, fundraising, and regulatory matters.
