Job summary

College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas is seeking a Healthcare Simulation Operator to provide technical and AV support for nursing simulations. The role focuses on operating high-fidelity simulators, programming requested scenarios, and maintaining simulation environments with adherence to INACSL standards.

The position requires troubleshooting skills, knowledge of simulation software, and the ability to work flexible hours across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a related profession as a simulation operator or a comparable role.
• Skilled in the use of computer software, hardware, basic applications and audio-visual equipment.
• Ability to travel to multi-campus sites as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional extended hours as needed.
• Preferred: Demonstrated skill in the operation and maintenance of healthcare simulators/ manikins and moulage application.
• Clinical knowledge and experience in a healthcare field (e.g., CNA, RRT, LPN, RN, EMT, or Paramedic).
• Moderate to advanced knowledge and experience in assessing, troubleshooting and repairing hardware software and equipment in urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a wide range of high-fidelity simulators and healthcare simulation equipment.
• Utilize and troubleshoot simulation software such as Laerdal LLEAP, SimCapture, KBPort, Sim2Gro, and SimX VR.
• Program requested healthcare simulations and prepare the physical environment, including moulage application to mannequins.
• Align simulation practices with INACSL HSSOBP standards.
• Assist with the pre-briefing and debriefing process by managing audio/visual equipment.
• Provide scheduled maintenance and maintain equipment checklists.
• Act as a technical liaison for faculty and students, and communicate with vendors on complex issues.
• Setup, breakdown, programming and operation of healthcare simulations and data capture systems.
