Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Security Officer for Cooley Dickinson Hospital in the United States. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Security Services, you will patrol, monitor an assigned area, and respond to security and life safety issues.

The position requires weekend/holiday availability, relevant certifications, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You will document incidents, enforce policies, and coordinate with police as needed to maintain a safe hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AVADE Workplace Violence prevention training within 3 months.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions.
• 1 year experience and Healthcare or Law enforcement background preferred.
• Weekend/holiday availability required.
• Handcuffing & IAHSS basics certifications within stated timeframes.
• OC spray familiarity and BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Respond to security and life safety issues as needed.
• Tour buildings and grounds; minimum 4 rounds per shift.
• Question, detain, or contact police as appropriate.
• Utilize fire and safety equipment and report malfunctions.
• Check for weapons/contraband; confiscate/store as required.
• Notify police and respond to all calls for assistance.
• Maintain daily shift and incident reports; ensure 100% accuracy.
• Enforce parking policy and assist with lighting and sidewalk checks.
• Support hospital drills, disasters, and emergency responses.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
