Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Security Officer to provide professional, compassionate security services within the facility. You will patrol, respond to emergencies, de-escalate threats, and assist patients, visitors, and staff while upholding policies and training.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks. Experience in security or public safety is preferred; certification in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Typically 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.
• Must pass background investigation and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Certification in Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER) within 90 days of hire and periodically thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide security with a customer-service approach and enforce policies and procedures.
• Patrol interior and exterior areas to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions; manage patient valuables and contraband.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents; de-escalate threats and assist patients, visitors, and staff.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders; monitor access and ensure safety.
• Deliver security awareness education to staff and liaise with departments to improve site security.
